CL M: Modena end Zaksa’s winning streak, Leon & Atanasijevic create a win for Perugia

Three teams from Italy had a successful night in the CEV Champions League.

Let’s start from the match of the round, Modena – Zaksa. The Italian team managed to make something that other teams didn’t as of the start of the season, to end their winning streak counting all competitions. After 14 wins, Zaksa suffered a defeat 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 26-24).

Ivan Zaytsev marked the game with 18 points, while Tine Urnaut contributed with 15 points. On the other side, Lukasz Kaczmarek scored 18 and Sam Deroo 16 points.

Wilfredo Leon (24 points) and Aleksandar Atanasijevic (20) led Perugia to the win over Tours away in four sets 25-19, 15-25, 25-19, 27-25.

Lube Civitanova didn’t have any difficulties in the Czech Republic, beating Karlovarsko in straight sets. The Bulgarian opposite Tsvetan Sokolov scored 13 to lead the Italian team in this race.

The Polish side Gdansk defeated BR Volleys in three sets at the home court. Milos Hebda (18 points) and Maciej Muzaj (17 points) were the top scorers of the game.

ACH Volley – Zenit St. Petersburg 2-3 (19-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 14-16)

United Volleys – Halkbank 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23)

Chaumont – Friedrichshafen 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-18)

Maaseik – Belchatow 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 29-27)
