CL M: Lube win in Moscow, but Dinamo are in still in the race

by WoV

Lube Civitanova have achieved the win at the start of the CEV Champions League quarterfinals.

Lube Civitanova – Dinamo Moscow

However, the 3-2 win in Moscow doesn’t guarantee anything to the Italian team so they will have to play at the high level in the second leg if they want to reach the semifinals. It was really a dramatic game…

The home crowd saw a poor start of their team at the start of the game since they scored only 10 points in the first set. They even were trailing by 8-0 at the start of the match. However, in the next two sets, Dinamo Moscow managed to make a comeback and to take the lead in sets.

That was a huge hope for the home fans. The Italian side answered back in the fourth set to force the tie-break in which they managed to reach 15 points before the rival and to win the game.

Osmany Juantorena and Tsvetan Sokolov, stringing up 24 and 23 points, respectively, were the best scorers of the match. In the home team, Yuri Berezhko and Romanas Shkulyavichus had 17 points each.

The return game at the Eurosole Forum in Civitanova Marche will take place on March 21, starting at 20:30 local time.
