It is expected that more than 9,000 spectators greet Imoco Volley Conegliano and Igor Gorgonzola Novara whet they step out on the court of Berlin’s Max-Schmeling-Halle to cross their spears in the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women Super Finals, vying for the unprecedented money prize in the history of the best club competition in Europe. This will be the first gold medal match under the new Champions League format that said goodbye to Final Four and welcomed a two-game knockout stage all the way to the finals that will be held on the same day for both Men’s and Women’s teams.
„We’ve had a great season so far, reaching the finals of all the competitions and winning a fantastic championship. But the story has yet to end and we want to write the most beautiful chapter in the final of the most important competition. It will be great to play this final in a packed hall. We’re proud to participate in this great event and we know that we’ll be able to count on many of our fans that will be an extra value and a boost for us in Berlin. We’re facing a great team, we know each other very well and it will be another chapter of this endless challenge between us and Novara, a tense match that we’ll try, with every means, to win. We know it will be very tough, but we go to Berlin to give another great satisfaction to the club and to our fans,“ Imoco head coach Daniele Santarelli said.
“We don’t have much time to change our way of playing since the national championship finals, but for sure we can do better. We know that we can change two or three things and we will try to do that,” Novara head coach Massimo Barbolini stated.”
The encounter between Imoco and Novara will be the third all-Italian Women’s Champions League final after 2001 and 2005 as both teams seek their first-ever title in the tournament. These two have already met three times in some final this season: Imoco prevailed in the Italian Super Cup by a 3-1, Novara took revenge on them in the national Cup by a 3-2, while Imoco swept the championship final with Novara series by a 3-0.

was the 2nd all italian final before or after Christ ?? 😀
Re: @hf it had to have been before because Christ actually played volleyball in Clube jubilee when he walked on earth, he was actually the setter and his decipules were the middle and outside hitters and zacheus was the libero. They eliminated both italian teams who were part of the Roman Empire at that time.
Best league in the world. this final proves it! (without mention the cev cup and the challenge cup won by Uyba and Monza)
not only serie a is worldwide recognized as the best league in the world, but becomes better year after year. this whole italian final proves it.
if this whole italian final proves it,then the overwhelming turkish dominance in the last decade proves that you are an …………… 😀 ( you fill in the blank )
are you…frustrated? 😉 (i filled the blank for you)
Congrats to Novara!!! Although I was a religious fan of CONEGLIANO I have to say Novara deserved the win tonight. CONEGLIANO just didn’t meet expectations at the end of the 4th set plus I’m an American so I could rejoice with Carlini and Bartsch taking the crown along with several players I highly respect especially Black Mamba.
congrats novara!
‘They eliminated both italian teams who were part of the Roman Empire at that time.’
maybe that’s an archeological proof that even at that time italian league was the best one,
Re: @Brazilvolley
