ECH U17 M: With 10 wins and zero defeats, France crowned champions

France national team are the winners of the 2019 CEV U17 Men’s European Volleyball Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria.

France deservingly claimed the title of the best national team in the second edition of the U17 EuroVolley as they finished as the only undefeated side in the tournament (7-0), losing one set only in their campaign and that happened in the final match. Furthermore, France did not suffer a single defeat in the qualifications as well (3-0).

The “Les Bleus“ surpassed the hosts Bulgaria in the final in 4 sets, partially 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-13, to seize their first gold medal at the continental championship for this age category.

Nathan Canovas, who plays for the youth team of Volley Ball Sennecey Le Grand, highlighted for France in the decider with 15 points and earned the MVP of EuroVolley award. Hilir Henno, a player of Tours youth team and the son of a legendary French libero Huber Henno, scored 11 points. Vladimir Garkov noted 10 points for Bulgaria.

Poland claimed the bronze medal by beating the Czech Republic in straight sets.

Second Best Middle Blocker: Tomáš Bukáček (CZE)

Best Outside Hitter: Vladimir Garkov (BUL)

Second Best Outside Hitter: Hilir Henno (FRA)

Best Opposite HItter: Georgi Tatarov (BUL)

Best Setter: Anatole Chaboissant (FRA)

Most Valuable Player: Nathan Canovas (FRA)

Czech Republic – Poland 0-3 (24-26, 26-28, 21-25)

Final:

France – Bulgaria 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-13)
