Germany won the No.1 in Pool D of the 2019 CEV Women’s Volleyball European Championship.

Germany

Germany

Germany’s sensational 2019 EuroVolley campaign went on as they defeated Belarus on Day 6, in their last match in the Preliminary Round. Thus, the team coached by Felix Koslowski will progress to the eighth-finals as an undefeated side (5-0) and, which is even more important, from the top spot in Pool D (Bratislava).

Germany conceded only 40 points from Belarus in the match that lasted just over an hour: 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-15).

Jana Franziska Poll top-scored for the winning side with 11 points, while Germany served an impressive number of aces as a team (13). Anastasiya Harelik scored 10 points for Belarus who, after losing today, lost all chances for advancing to the next round .

Russia

Russia

Russia’s straight-set win against Spain will not bring them the top spot in Pool D but will probably help them end Preliminary Round at the No.2. But in order to secure the second place, they will have to emerge victoriously from a fight against the home side Slovakia in the last round.

Russia’s Irina Koroleva was brutal in blocking rivals as she made 9 kill blocks! She was also the best scorer of her team with 15 points. Ana Escamilla of Spain scored game-high 16 points.
