Italy (No.1 in Pool B) will play the quarter-finals of the 2019 EuroVolley after beating on of the four co-hosts Slovakia (No.3 in Pool D) in front of their crowd in Bratislava.

Italy swept rivals in straight sets, while more than 6,000 fans at the ice hockey hall Ondrej Nepela Arena (the new record in the hall when it comes to Volleyball matches) saw their team being close to “Azzurrine“ only in the second set (23-22).

Paola Egonu was Italy’s top scorer, as usual, but with an atypically poor attack success rate of 33% (11/33; 8 errors). She scored 17 points, including 4 aces. In Slovakia, Mária Kostelanská scored 10 points.
