Looking at these two teams, Eczacıbaşı had by far tougher opponents than Fenerbahçe. The Club World Championship runners-up faced Polish vice-champions Budowlani Łódź on the road but had no troubles to prevail over them and maintain a perfect record in the pool (3/3): 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22). Serbian opposite hitter Tijana Bošković top-scored for the winning side with 17 points, while Brazilian international Natália Zilio was brilliant in defense with 83% reception (12 digs, 58% excellent).

Led by Serbian outside hitter Brankica Mihajlović (19 points), Fenerbahçe swept LP Salo. This match was actually valid for the sixth round, the last round of pool stage, as these two teams swapped households.
