Belgium achieved their first win in the 2020 European Women’s Olympic Qualifier in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. The “Yellow Tigers“ struggled to beat Croatia in Round 3 of Pool B. Only 2 set balls separated the teams from the Balkans to take the lead in the sets of 2-0, but an unleashed Britt Herbots (27 points, including 6 aces) reversed the things in the match in the favor of Belgium for a much-needed victory: 3-1 (20-25, 28-26, 25-16, 25-22). Samanta Fabris scored 20 points for Croatia.
In the last round, tomorrow, Belgium will fight Turkey for the spot in the semifinals. Germany secured the top spot in this pool and a place in the semis, yesterday.
