Russia continued their domination over U17 EuroVolley as they won the fifth title in total, the fourth in a row.
In the final match of the 2020 edition, held in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica, “Zbornaya” beat Turkey with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-23) and completed a clean sweep of its matches in the tournament – six wins in as many games – dropping just two sets on their way to the trophy.
The Russia National Team opposite hitter Arina Fedorovtseva (promoted to the senior team of the champions of her country Dinamo-Ak Bars) was the most productive player of the match, scoring 26 points. Anastasiya Zhabrova (the middle blocker of the youth team of Lokomotiv) made 4 blocks and 73 % attack. Pelin Eroktay (the opposite hitter of the youth team of Eczacıbaşı VitrA) was Turkey’s top scorer with 17 points.
Serbia (Una Vajagić 20 points, Hena Kurtagić 10 blocks) took the bronze medal after beating Italy in four sets.
