United Volleys were forced to get back to the transfer market after the elbow injury of Dutchman Floris van Rekom. The German club found a replacement in Argentina.
Rodrigo Quiroga, the long-time captain of the national team of this South American country, came to Frankfurt. A 33-year-old outside hitter spent the last two seasons in Obras de San Juan. Interestingly, Quiroga was coached by Juan Manuel Serramalera, the current United Volleys head coach, in the first of these two seasons.
