Two teams secured advancement to the 16th-finals of the 2022 CEV Men’s Volleyball Cup.
Beating Estonia’s Bigbank Tartu again in their first CEV Cup campaign in 16 years, the multiple champions of Russia and Europe Zenit Kazan successfully went through the Qualification Round and reached the 1/16 finals of this season’s edition of the second-tier continental club competition. According to the agreement between the two sides, both matches were played in Estonia and that within two days. In the first encounter, the Kazan team was better in four sets, while today it won 3-0. Dmitriy Volkov scored 12 points for Zenit.
Thanks to another straight-set win over Belarusian champions Shakhtior Soligorsk in two days, Germany’s SWD powervolleys Düren secured their place in the next round of the CEV Cup.
In other matches of the competition today, all of which were played within the 1st leg of the Qualification Round, there were no upsets.
