To put it differently, Dinamo Kazan failed to repeat what Dinamo Moscow and Lokomotiv Kaliningrad Region did two days ago, but unlike them, they immediately faced their group’s (Pool D) favorite. Moreover, the executioner of Dinamo Kazan was their ex-member, who grew as a player there before coming to Fenerbahçe this summer, Arina Fedorovtseva (27 points). Another Russian had a significant contribution in a win of the ’Yellow Angels’, Anna Lazareva (22 points, four aces). Serbian Mina Popović set up four blocks. Dinamo Kazan were commanded today by the assistant coach Sergey Sikachev due to the illness of head coach Rishat Gilyazutdinov.
In Pool C, Italy’s Igor Gorgonzola Novara beat THY İstanbul 3-0. Thus, the Turkish side will not remember its historic, first-ever match in the Champions League by good. The Dutch Nika Daalderop slightly stood out in Novara above her teammates (13 points, four blocks).
