Savino Del Bene Scandicci stepped onto the highest spot on the podium of the 2022 CEV Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup with one foot. They will have the chance to put the other foot too in a week.
Italy’s Savino Del Bene Scandicci imposed themselves with a clear 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-15) win against Spain’s CV Tenerife La Laguna in the first leg of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2022 | Women final. The Serie A side was always in control of the match, spoiling the return of the European Cup final to the Canary Islands, also to Tenerife, after 18 years and the CEV Champions League decider with Tenerife Marichal having the main role back then.
Scandicci were dragged to the win by Russian-Italian Ekaterina Antropova (20 points; 7 blocks) and Dominican Brenda Castillo (82% reception; 11 digs, 1 error, 64% excellent). The French Lisa Jeanpierre scored 10 points for La Laguna, while Patricia Llabrés was amazing in reception (93%, 28 digs, 46% excellent).
