Italian volleyball team Igor Gorgonzola Novara triumphed over Turkish team Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul in a thrilling and fiercely contested match in the Champions League semifinal. The sold-out Pala Igor Gorgonzola witnessed a real volleyball show, as both teams put up a great fight, ultimately resulting in a 3-2 victory for Novara.
The match had many twists and turns, with Novara taking a 2-0 lead before Eczacibasi fought back and tied the score at 2-2. In the crucial moment of the game, Novara came back from 2-6 in the tie-break, thanks to a great serve display by Ebrar Karakurt, ultimately taking the lead 7-6. Novara celebrated at the end with a 16-14 after a fiercely contested and closely-matched finish..
Tijana Boskovic from Eczacibasi and Ebrar Karakurt from Igor Novara battled for the top scorer award, both finishing with an impressive 27 points. However, the Turkish international had a higher excellence rate of 49% compared to Karakurt’s 47%. Karakurt was also awarded the MVP of the game.
