The contest resumed in Pool I at Vrnjačka Banja, where Estonia, much like the teams before them, put up a strong resistance. Unfortunately, their efforts fell short against Poland, losing a tense encounter 2-3. Serbia, in their day’s fixture, managed to bag a decisive third win against Bulgaria, tipping the scale in their favor for a spot in the semi-finals. The match, full of unpredictability, concluded with Serbia winning 3-1.

Italy fortified their standing in Pool I, securing their fifth win out of six matches against the Netherlands, with a match score of 3-1. The victory paved the way for the Azzurrine to join the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Croatia demonstrated their prowess with a resounding 3-0 win over Georgia, maintaining their unbeaten record.

Moving to Pool II in Békéscsaba, Greece displayed an exceptional performance, defeating Slovenia in a straight-set match. Their sixth consecutive win was celebrated in traditional Greek fashion, dancing to the rhythms of sirtaki. Türkiye and Slovenia, despite a setback for Türkiye losing 1-3 to Belgium, remain in second place in the group with a 4-2 win-loss record.

In other events of the day, Romania triumphed over France 3-1, with a significant contribution from 12-year-old prodigy Bianca Cucu scoring 12 points. In a nail-biting game, Hungary managed to overcome Germany at the tiebreak, despite an impressive 31-point effort from Germany’s Leana Grozer.

As the pool phase draws to a close on Wednesday, the suspense intensifies regarding the fourth team to join Croatia, Italy, and Greece in the semi-finals.
