Fenerbahce vs. Eczacibasi
The ‘Yellow Angels’ had a 3-2 away win against national league rivals Eczacıbaşı VitrA İstanbul from the 1st leg and won the first set in the rematch. But then, the players in orange jerseys speeded up and took next three sets to advance to the Final Four in Treviso, securing the second berth there after the hosts Imoco Volley Conegliano, 3-1 (29-31, 25-14, 27-25, 25-23).
A taste of Eczacıbaşı’s win was a bitter since one of their best players, Brazilian middle blocker Thaísa Daher, suffered an injury in the third set and did not return to the floor afterwards.
Eczacıbaşı dominated in aces (13-7) and blocking (12-5) while Serbian Tijana Bošković had a spectacular display with 27 points for the winning team. Brazilian Natália Pereira had 22 for Fenerbahçe.
