CL W: Alba Blaj have surprised Volero; Kazan overpowered Plovdiv

In the first match of Pool A of the CEV Champions League – Women, the Romanian Alba Blaj surprised Volero Zurich with the victory of 3-1 (26-24, 25-22, 24-26, 25-21).

In the first match of the group stage, reigning Romanian champions prepared a big celebration for their fans. They defeated Volero and Ana Yilian Cleger Abel was the top scorer with 26 points for the winning team followed by Adina Salaoru 21 points. The new member of Alba, Crncevic debuted and scored 5 points.

In the Swiss team, Rosir Calderon scored 26 points while Bulgarian Gergana Dimitrova finished match with 12 points.

Maritza PLOVIDV have played their historical match in Champions League but unfortunately they have suffered defeat from Dinamo Kazan 0-3 (19-25, 23-25, 23-25).

2650 spectators watched this match but Russian team was superior. Zariazhko, Voronkova and Mammadova scored 12 points each while Vasileva and Samoilenko 11 points and they dominated in each volleyball element.
