Since regulations allow only 12 players to be used at the Olympic Games, unlike 14 at other major international tournaments, The Netherlands head coach had to cross out two names – libero Kirsten Knip and middle blocker Nicole Koolhaas.

Middle blockers: Yvon Beliën, Robin de Kruijf and Quinta Steenbergen
Receivers: Celeste Plak, Maret Balkestein-Grothues, Judith Pietersen, Myrthe Schoot and Anne Buijs
Opposite: Lonneke Slöetjes
Libero: Debby Stam-Pilon
