The defending Dutch women’s volleyball champions will remain without their coach at end of the season regardless of the result he achieves with the club.

Sliedrecht Sport coach Matt van Wezel accepted to take over the Norwegian women’s national team as from this summer. The Dutch championship Eredivisie titleholders think it will not be a good option for the club to have a coach performing the dual role and thus, decided to part ways with Van Wezel at the end of the season.

The 2017/18 is the third season of a 38-year-old coach at the helm of Sliedrecht. During this time, he won the one gold medal in the national championship and Super cup each.
