In a duel between the two best sides in the first stage of the regular season, the second-placed Ploiești swept the leaders Steaua by a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-23). The game was valid for Round 2 of the second stage of the tournament, the Final 6 (no playoffs).
Bogdan-Alexandru Olteanu scored 14 points for the winners, while Russian Nikita Stulenkov served 4 aces. Ciprian Matei topped Steaua with 10 points. The Serbian Nemanja Čubrilo made 4 kill blocks.
Ploiești came to a point close to Steaua in the standings.
