The defending champions and also No.1, Linköpings VC, closed the series of the Elitserien 2017/18 playoff semifinals against No.5 Örkelljunga with a 3-0.

Örkelljunga’s resistance to Linköpings was fading away from the game to game (2-3, 1-3) in the series until Game 3 in which they were swept by a 3-0, partially 25-20, 28-26, 25-22.

Martin Larsson topped the winning side with 16 points, while Serbian Petar Turanjanin recorded 83% attack (10/12, blocked once). The Canadian Mike Choja and Lithuanian Tomas Vilimas scored 12 points apiece for Örkelljunga.

Linköpings will face the winners of No.2 Hylte/Halmstad vs. No.3 Falkenberg (2-0) in the best-of-five playoff finals, their fifth in a row.
