Serbian team is still undefeated since the FIVB World Championship started. The European champions are on the top of Pool E with 7-0 win-loss record.

Milena Rasic and Maja Ognjenovic

Today, in the second match of the second round, Serbia defeated Germany in straight sets (25-14, 25-20,2 5-20) and are only one step from the third round of the competition.

Tijana Boskovic scored a match-high 17 points while Brankica Mihajlovic followed her with 15 points. In the German side, Louisa Lipmann scored 11 points and Jennifer Geerties added 10 points.

Serbia again exhibited a strong all-around game, serving, block and attacking well.

Germany made the second and third sets competitive but was not able to overcome the combination of power and finesse the Serbs showed.

In Pool F, Russia scored another victory but they are still fighting for the third position on the standings. Without injured Goncharova, it’s a question what will they do until the end of the World Championship.

Today they defeated Bulgaria with 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 25-19) to extend their win-loss record to 6-1 while dropping Bulgaria to 2-5 after seven matches in the first and second rounds.

Kseniia Parubets was the match top scorer with 22 points while her teammate b scored 19 points. On the Bulgarian side, Gergana Dimitrova finished the match with 19 points and Mariya Karakasheva with 14 points.
