Serbia outplayed Japan in straight set (25-19, 25-18, 25-23) and they are literally a step from the semifinals.
Japan opened the match with 5-4 when Serbia over Boskovic made a series of 4-0 (8-5). With strong attack and good block, Serbia came to 15-7 and 20-13 which showed the difference between the teams when Boskovic is in the game (Boskovic had missed the past two matches with an injury to her abdominal muscles.). At 23-14 Japan won five points in a row (23-19) which forced coach Terzic to call timeout. After a pause, Boskovic won a set point and Koga made mistake for 25-19.
In the second set of the match, Serbia continued with the domination and the result of 19-12 said by itself. The Serbian girls played on the high level and again the result was 23-14 when Japan scored three points in a row (23-17). After mistake of the host team, Serbia secured the win in this set 25-18.
During the whole third set Japan led with one point but in the second part, they had +3 points (22-19). Serbia made 22-22 and took the lead at 23-22. Maja Ognjenovic won a point from attack for 25-23 and 3-0 in the match.
