POOL 7:
China downed South Korea at home in Macau in straight sets, partially 25-21, 25-12, and 25-11, to extend their winning streak in the tournament to four games. By beating Belgium yesterday, China already made their biggest winning streak in the Nations League and now have a 4-2 record. As for South Korea, they are at 1-5, losing 14 of last 16 games in world-level competitions.
Zhu Ting played her first match as a starter for China but Zhang Changning was the highlight for the winning side with 17 points (3 kill blocks, 3 aces). Xinyue Yuan made 5 kill blocks. Kim Hee-Jin scored 9 points for South Korea.
Belgium easily beat Thailand by a 3-0 to close their Week 2 campaign victoriously and reach a 3-3 record in the tournament. These two met in the world-level tournament only for the third time.
Kaja Grobelna scored 19 points (3 aces) for the “Yellow Tigers”. Pleumjit Thinkaow notched 14 for Thailand who are at 2-4.
