FIVB officially confirms hosts, dates and participants of all continental Olympic qualifications

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) officially confirmed hosts, dates and participants of five continental Olympic qualifications for both genders.

After six tickets each for men’s and women’s volleyball tournament at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, plus two automatic tickets for the hosts, were booked via international qualifying tournaments in August, the FIVB announced an official list of teams that will vie for the remaining 10 tickets (five Men’s and five Women’s).

The governing body of the world volleyball also confirmed hosts and dates of all 5 continental tournaments per gender through which 62 teams will try to secure 10 berths and form two line-ups of 12 teams each in Tokyo.

MEN

  • Europe (January 5-10 in Berlin, Germany): Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Netherlands, Slovenia, Serbia.
  • Africa (January 6-12 in Cairo, Egypt): Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Niger, Tunisia.
  • Asia (January 7-12 in Jiangmen, China): Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Qatar.
  • South America (January 9-11 in Santiago, Chile): Chile, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela.
  • NORCECA (January 9-12 in Vancouver, Canada): Canada, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico.

WOMEN

  • Africa (January 4-9 in Yaounde, Cameroon): Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria.
  • Europe (January 5-12 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands): Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Turkey.
  • Asia (January 7-12 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand): Australia, Indonesia, Iran, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Korea, Thailand.
  • South America (January 7-9 in Manizales, Colombia): Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela.
  • NORCECA (January 9-12 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic): Canada, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico.

The winners of these tournaments will complement current Men’s line-up (Japan, Brazil, USA, Italy, Poland, Russia and Argentina) and Women’s (Japan, Serbia, China, USA, Brazil, Russia and Italy) in Tokyo.
