Poland absolutely dominated the 2021 FIVB Boys’ Volleyball U19 World Championship in Tehran (Iran).
The Poland Men’s Volleyball National Team did not find a worthy rival at the U19 World Championship 2021. The players under the baton of Michał Bąkiewicz defeated Bulgaria 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) in the final in Tehran. On the way to gold, in which Tytus Nowik and Piotr Śliwka (the brother of the senior national team member Aleksander) stood out the most, Poland lost only one set (against Iran in the semis) in eight games in total. A bit more intense gold medal encounter was expected given that Bulgaria’s campaign in the tournament included only one defeat.
Poland repeated the success from 2015 when they beat Argentina 3-2 in the final. The host claimed the bronze medal, beating Russia 3-2 (25-14, 22-25, 27-25, 21-25, 15-6).
