Macao, China – The Italian women’s national volleyball team secured their fourth victory in the Volleyball Nations League 2024 with a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-14, 25-14) over France.
Under the guidance of coach Julio Velasco, the Italian team executed a flawless performance, meeting the goal of winning in straight sets. This victory, the first of four matches scheduled in Macao, boosted Italy’s world ranking points by 2.42, edging them closer to Olympic qualification. Italy now stands at 4 wins and 12 points in the VNL standings, moving towards the Final 8 in Bangkok. Paola Egonu led the scoring with 13 points, followed by Danesi with 9 and Lubian with 8.
Marina Lubian: “It was crucial not to lose any sets. We’re happy with our performance, and we’re aiming to improve throughout the week.”
