Praia Clube Rolls Past Zamalek in Women’s Club World Championship Opener

Brazil’s Dentil/Praia Clube opened the Women’s Club World Championship with a convincing 3–0 win over Egypt’s Zamalek, taking sets of 25–11, 25–17, 25–15.

Praia, competing in Pool B with Conegliano of Italy and the Orlando Valkyries of the United States, can clinch a semifinal berth with a win over Orlando on Wednesday. Zamalek faces Conegliano later the same day. Matches stream on VBTV.

Praia quickly built a 10–2 lead behind strong serving and controlling blocks. With the match in hand, Praia rotated substitutes throughout. Milka Marcília Medeiros Silva scored 13 points, 12 on attacks, while Maria Koleva also finished with 13. Toqaallah Eassa – Tokka led Zamalek with 11.
