The Olympic champions from Rio beat Italy 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20) in their opening Group 1 FIVB World Grand Prix 2017 match.

The host was better on the block thanks to Yuanyuan Wang while Xiangyu Gong scored 13 points and Xiaotong Liu 12 points.

On the other side, attacker Indre Sorokaite was the top scorer of Italy with 14 points.

Today, the new captain of ChinaZhu Ting entered the game only in the fourth set and scored only one point.
