Louisa Lippmann led Germany against Brazil and send them tumbling to their first home defeat at some FIVB competition after eight years with a 3-1 win (25-15 22-25 18-25 20-24).

Brazil lost just one of their last 21 major matches – albeit a crushingly disappointing quarter-final defeat at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Lippman scored 18 points but the top scorer was Maren Brinker Fromm with 20 points. In the home team, Tandara Caixeta finished the match with 16 points followed by Drussyla Felix Costa who scored 14 points.
