Looking back at a successful year 2013, the team of BERLIN Recycling Volleys have caused a major sensation as the Playoffs 12 participant of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League was voted “Team of the Year 2013” in Germany’s capital city leaving behind popular and successful other Berlin-based clubs.

The defense of their title in the Bundesliga, the qualification for the Playoffs 12 of last year’s edition of the CEV Volleyball Champions League, a third rank in the “Sports Marketing Award” and being awarded as the “Best Organizer” of last year’s Champions League campaign by the CEV – the record of successes of the 2013 German national champions is notable.

However, an occasion that certainly capped the last year for the likes of BERLIN Recycling Volleys was the 2013 election of the sportsmen, sportswomen and teams in the city of Berlin. For the first time in the club history – after a surprising third rank last year – the team of head coach Mark Lebedew was voted “Team of the Year 2013” in the sports-minded city of Berlin leaving behind Hertha BSC Berlin (football) and the popular ice hockey team EHC Eisbären Berlin.
