The Germany Men’s Volleyball National Team starts preparing for the 2021 CEV European Championship soon with one big name in the training camp – Georg Grozer.
The next Men’s European Championship, which will take place in Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Finland (September 1 to 19, 2021), will be enriched with one big volleyball name. The German National Team will start its preparation for the tournament in a week for which the head coach Andrea Giani has summoned 17 players, including Georg Grozer, who will slip on the German jersey again after a year and a half.
“I saw the boys play in the Volleyball Nations League and immediately felt the tingling sensation again. I then jokingly talked to Jan (Zimmermann) about a return. Afterward, the idea turned into reality in discussions with assistant coach Thomas Ranner and head coach Andrea Giani,” said a 36-year-old opposite hitter.
Now the veteran player, who has collected 175 caps for Germany (named Best Opposite Spiker in the 2017 EuroVolley), originally ended his international career in January 2020 after narrowly missing out on the Olympic qualification for Tokyo.
