GER W: Fürst surprisingly returns to NT for Olympic Qualifiers (WIDE LIST)!

Head coach of Germany Felix Koslowski determined wide list of 16 players for the 2016 Olympic Qualification Tournament in Ankara, on January 4-9.

Almost one year after saying farewell to the national team and after recently refusing to play for the NT once again, Christiane Fürst returned after all.

The legendary middle blocker is not the only returnee to the German National Team. Corina Ssuschke-Voigt and Lisa Izquierdo are also back after long absence.

Germany will start preparing for the Olympic Qualifications on December 25 and play two friendlies in the next few days. After that, Koslowski will decide which 14 players will travel to Ankara, Turkey.

List of 16 players of the German NT:

Setters: Mareen Apitz (Azeryol /AZE), Kathleen Weiß (Prostějov /CZE);

Outside hitters/receivers: Maren Brinker (Montichiari/ITA), Heike Beier (Budowlani/POL), Jennifer Geerties (Schweriner), Lisa Izquierdo (Dresdner), Jana-Franziska Poll (Hamburg);

Middle blockers: Christiane Fürst (Eczacıbaşı/TUR), Corina Ssuschke-Voigt (Straubing), Anja Brandt (Schweriner), Wiebke Silge (Potsdam), Jennifer Pettke (Wiesbaden);

Opposite hitters: Margareta Kozuch (Casalmaggiore/ITA), Louisa Lippmann (Dresdner).

Liberos: Lenka Dürr (Impel/POL), Lisa Thomsen (Stuttgart).
