Panathinaikos pulled off a stunning 3-2 comeback win over Olympiacos at the Melina Mercouri Hall, turning a 0-2 deficit into victory in the second final of the Volley League playoffs.
This historic win gives the Greens a 2-0 lead in the finals, putting them just one win away from the title. They’ll have the chance to seal the championship at home in Mets Indoor Hall on May 7.
MVP Maarten Van Garderen led the way with 19 points, while Athanásios Protopsáltis and Patrick Gasman also delivered standout performances. Despite a strong start, Olympiacos couldn’t hold off Panathinaikos’ momentum, losing steam in the tie-break.
All eyes now turn to Mets, where Panathinaikos will aim to lift the trophy in front of their fans.
