A 27-year-old Polish National Team member, with whom he became the winner of the 2014 FIVB World Championship, signed one-year-del with the Greek powerhouse, after parting ways with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów. Thus, the option of moving to some of Italian top division teams has failed.
Drzyzga has been a member of Resovia since 2013, winning the national championship in 2015 and being awarded the Best Setter of the CEV Champions League Final Four that year as his team took silver medal. Drzyzga has another valuable gold medal in his pocket – in the 2012 CEV Challenge Cup – which he grabbed while wearing the jersey of AZS Częstochowa.
“It’s a great honor for me to be in Olympiacos, one of the greatest sport clubs in Europe in general! I’m looking forward to play in front of Olympiacos fans, since I know they are one of the best in the world. I come to Greece with a clear goal – to bring the championship back to Olympiacos!” Drzyzga heated up the hope of Olympiacos supporters who wait for the national title since 2013/2014.
