Imoco Volley Conegliano achieved a surprisingly easy win at the start of the 2018/19 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship playoff finals against Igor Gorgonzola Novara: 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-15).

The top seed Imoco stormed through Pala Igor Gorgonzola hall, not allowing the hosts, No.2 seed Novara, to win a single set in Game 1 of the 2018/19 Samsung Volley Cup A1 playoff finals.

Even a left knee injury of their starting middle blocker Raphaela Folie, that she sustained during warm-up, did not disturb the reigning champions who were led by the Dutch Robin de Kruijf – 14 points (including 4 kill blocks) and 80% attack (8/10, blocked once). Although she was the best scorer in Novara with 14 points (3 kill blocks), Paola Egonu had a bad day, making only 31% attack (11/35, 6 errors, blocked once).
