The Bergamo players gave everything they’ve got in Round 16’s encounter of the 2022–23 Serie A against Milano, which was the derby of the Lombardy region, and it paid them off. They picked up a big win in their quest to make the playoffs (they are currently seventh in the standings), defeating the vice-champions as well as a third-placed team in the league. Bergamo kept coming back today despite being down by a set twice.

Giorgia Frosini topped the winning side with 18 points. Croat Božana Butigan made five blocks. The Pole Magdalena Stysiak scored 12 points for Milano and was one of five players in double digits on her squad. A team that has as many players with 10+ points as Milano today rarely loses, but obviously, this is no rule…
