Akimova’s volleyball journey began in her Siberian hometown of Noyabrsk. As a young child, she immersed herself in the sport, which led to her first serious competitions at the tender age of 15. Her outstanding performances caught the attention of the national youth team’s scouts, prompting a move to Kazan to hone her skills further.

She made her starting debut in the Russian Superleague with Chelyabinsk in the 2021/2022 season. This was followed by a transfer to Le Cannet, where she had a stunning debut in the Champions League, notably scoring an astounding 43 points in a record-breaking match against Alba Blaj.

During her stint with Le Cannet, Akimova clinched the French Championship, earning several accolades, including the MVP, best opposite, best young player, and top scorer of the competition. On the international stage, she has shown her prowess with the national youth teams, securing bronze at the U20 World Championships in 2021, gold at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2019, the U17 European Championship in 2018, and silver at the U16 European Championship in 2017.

In 2021, Akimova added more feathers to her cap, bagging the individual awards for top scorer, best attacker, and best opposite at the U20 World Championships.
