Spettacolo, as Italians would say! Italy and Brazil played definitely the most exciting game of the World League this Friday, and it’s a real pity that one team had to lose.

Everything was set for a grand volleyball show. Fantastic atmosphere in Foro Italico created by 11.128 spectators, and a volleyball court under a clear sky… Indeed a unique volleyball experience that can only be seen in Rome.
Down below, players made sure that the fans get the show they paid for. After two hours of a great battle the result at the scoreboard showed 2-2. It was time for a tie-break! Azzurri had a two-point lead almost throughout the whole fifth set – 7:5, 8:6, 12:10, but then Brazil made three points in a row and took over the lead at 13:12! Away squad had a set point at 14:13… Italians saved it – 14:14.
Then it was time for Emanuele Birarelli to serve. He had already scored two aces before that moment… He scored the third one in the best possible time – 15:14 for Italy! Birarelli then made another great serve, Brazil could not create a good attacking play and Italy had a counterattack!
Dragan Travica set the ball to Luca Vettori, he scored from a block-out – 16:14! Italy has won the match after a tie-break!
