For Modena it was very important to bounce back after defeats against Trentino and Lube, while Perugia needed a win the take down the curse of losing the big games. After a fierce battle and 5 incredibly close sets, Modena prevailed over their hosts in the tie-break.
It was all tied at 13:13, when the Yellow crew scored two points in a row and finished the game. The last one was an ace, and it came from the absolute hero of the game – Earvin Ngapeth. The Frenchman scored 27 points in this derby!
However, not all things were bright and shiny for Modena at the end. They lost an important point in the race for the top spot, so Lube are now in big advantage…
Speaking about the leader, Lube need just one more win to secure the pole position before the Playoffs. Civitanova powerhouse defeated Molfetta in straight sets and escaped from the second placed Modena to 4 points margin, with two rounds remaining in the regular season. The top scorer in the winning side was Osmany Juanotrena with 14 points.
At the same time, Milano have felt the rage of Trentino. After losing the 1st set, the boys coached by Radostin Stoychev unleashed the full power and ran over the visitors in the following three sets. Tine Urnaut was leading the home troops with 17 points.
