Modena – Lube
The top story of the day is that Italy will get a new champion! Modena are out of the championship race, while Lube became the first team to advance to the 2016/17 Serie A1 Finals!
It was very intense this evening in PalaPanini, Modena. The home side were down by 1-2 in the series, so they needed a win to keep their title hopes alive. Modena had to chase the lead of Lube twice in Game 4, as they were losing by 0-1 and 1-2 in sets… And eventually, the reigning champions managed to take this match into the tie-break! But, that was the end of the road for them. Lube won the tie-break by 15:10 and qualified for the Serie A1 Finals!

On the other side, we still do not know the name of the 2nd finalist, as Perugia managed to tie the score in the series against Trentino to 2-2! The Block Devils made a very powerful display in Game 4 of the semi-finals and finished the job in just 3 sets.
Therefore, Game 5 will determine which team will confront Lube in the finals – Trentino or Perugia… It is important to know that Trentino will have a home court advantage in that match.
