The team coached by Marco Gaspari made a turnaround in the quarter-final series against fourth seed Foppapedretti Bergamo from 0-1 to 2-1, winning two straight games on the road. Game 3 was marked by the second longest tie-break in the history of Italian Women’s volleyball – 25-23 (tie-break of Novara – Bergamo match, in 2001, ended by 26-24). Thus, Modena scheduled semifinal clash versus reigning champions and also top seed Imoco Volley Conegliano. The series will start on April 26. Serbian opposite Jovana Brakočević-Canzian scored 26 points for the winners, while Martina Guiggi collected 17 for Foppapedretti.

No.7 Unet Yamamay Busto Arsizio tied the series with second seed Pomì Casalmaggiore at 1-1 by smashing the rivals on the road 3-0. Game 3, that will solve the question of the fourth playoff semifinalists, will be again played at Casalmaggiore’s gymnasium, on April 20. A 21-year-old Greek receiver from Busto, Anthi Vasilantonaki, scored game-high 17 points. U.S. international Lauren Gibbemeyer was the only double-digit player in Casalmaggiore, finishing with 10 points.

Earlier, Conegliano eliminated No.9 Il Bisonte Firenze while third seed Igor Gorgonzola Novara did the same to No.6 Savino Del Bene Scandicci, both advancing to semis by prevailing with 2-1 in series.
