TRENTINO and Zaksa already crossed their ways last year, always in Pool play, with the club from Poland claiming a surprising 3:2 win in Italy before the guys mentored by Bulgarian-born Radostin Stoytchev got back on track cruising to a 3:0 win in Silesia.
By combining the final match of the FIVB Club World Championship, the national league and the prelims of the CEV Volleyball Champions League, TRENTINO Diatec has claimed a series of eight matches without conceding any set to its opponents. The last couple of matches played for the national league against Sir PERUGIA and Andreoli LATINA testified that the group is in good shape. Some 2’500 fans shall be in attendance for the clash with Zaksa whereby Greek middle blocker Mitar Tzourits will return in action after suffering a knee injury.
“This is certainly the most important match we have to play in the prelims of the Champions League” says Stoytchev. “We have to score the best possible result as next week everything will be much more difficult as we play in Poland. We have prepared very carefully for this match and we know the strength of our opponents. In my opinion they got even stronger than last year as confirmed by the positive results they have claimed in their national league. I hope that playing at home will make the difference and we evidently need the support of all our fans”.
