With Agel PROSTEJOV having suffered two defeats and Rabita looking like the pre-favorite of the group, VILLA CORTESE and SOPOT are likely to fight for the second spot available for the next stage of the competition.
This past weekend VILLA CORTESE suffered its first setback in the national league. “I hope that my players are able to clean up their minds, forget this defeat and get ready for our next match” says head coach Gianni Caprara. “We are a young but well-balanced team. We do not celebrate too much after claiming a win and we do not desperate if we lose”.
The club is still a little concerned about the condition of rising star Caterina Bosetti – MVP of the 2011 FIVB Junior World Championship in Peru – who suffered a shoulder injury during the last match of the national league but the first medical examination ruled out any serious problems.
VILLA CORTESE and PROSTEJOV are crossing their ways once more after they did so two years ago, always in the prelims of Europe’s most elitist competition, where their clashes ended with one win for each side.
