It seems that a statement of Cucine Lube Civitanova sporting director Giuseppe Cormio, a few days ago, speeded up things up when it comes to engaging the 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalists and Best Setter, Bruno Rezende “Bruninho”.
A 31-year-old Brazil national team player, and certainly one of the top setters which the world volleyball have at the moment, is officially presented as the new reinforcement of Lube as he signed a two-year contract with the SuperLega club.
Despite being a Brazilian, the name of a Bruninho is inextricably linked to another SuperLega team, Azimut Modena, in which he spent three and a half seasons in total. Last season is one of these.
“At the end of a difficult period for me and for the people involved in this transfer from Modena to Civitanova, I can say that I am grateful to the club that brought me to Italy and I want to thank my new club that will give me the chance to continue playing at a high level in a championship that is undoubtedly the most beautiful in the world. I hope to repay the trust that has been given to me in the best possible way and to contribute to the growth of a new and very interesting group of players that is taking shape in Civitanova,” Bruninho stated.
With hiring Cuban Yoandy Leal and extending with Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov, Lube will have the trio of the players that will strike fear into the bones of their rivals next season!

Woooooooooooooooooooooooow the Italian League doesn’t get any much sweeter than this. One big signing after another. Teams just getting stronger makes it a mouth watering upcoming season. Can’t wait. What about Christenson?
Re: @NgueucheBruno
Christenson will probably go to Modena, so Civitanova and Modena exchange setters. But I honestly don’t think that Rezende will be able to fill in the gap that Christenson will leave behind. Christenson now has developed quite some interaction with his teammates that Rezende doesn’t have. Rezende also lacks the scoring ability in spike, block and service that Christenson has.
Modena got the better pickup with Christenson. Both are good but Christenson is brings more.
This isn’t the only ‘trade’ of top players.
Yes the league is becoming the strongest depth wise in the world.
