NORCECA U21 M: USA defeat Canada to grab a spot in semifinals, Cuba skips quarterfinals as well!

After the third round of the Norceca U21 championship group stage, USA and Cuba have managed to reach the semifinals, while Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Canada and Barbados will have to fight for the other two spots in semis.

In a decisive game, the USA have defeated Canada in four sets 25-14, 23-25, 25-23, 26-24. The top scorer on the winning side was Jaylen Jasper with 23 points, while on the other side Hofer Brodie was the best scorer with 16 points.

The Cuban boys have also decided to skip the quarterfinals and they finished the game against the Dominican Republic in straight sets 26-24, 25-18, 25-17. Jose M Gutierrez Suarez led Cuba with 11 points.

In the quarterfinals, Dominican Republic will meet Nicaragua, while Canada or Barbados will play in the semis.

Pool A

Guatemala – Barbados 1-3 (27-29, 25-19, 23-25, 17-25)

Cuba – Dominican Republic 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-17)

Pool B

Nicaragua – Haiti 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-20, 25-13)

Canada – USA 1-3 (14-25, 25-23, 23-25, 24-26)
