The host Dominican Republic won its fifth gold medal in the history of the Women’s Pan-Am Cup after beating Mexico in the final of this year’s edition in straight sets: 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-14). The Dominicans became only the second team who have finished the tournament undefeated (7-0) and without losing a single set (21-0), joining the Cuban team in 2005.

Prisilla Rivera, the outside hitter of the winning side, was named MVP of the Pan-Am Cup. She shared the lead in scoring for the Dominicans with Jineiry Martínez – both scored 13 points. Samantha Bricio led Mexico with 13 points.
