The Dominican Republic beat the United States 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, and 26-24) in the country’s capital, Santo Domingo, to win the trophy in the second edition of the NORCECA F6 Cup. Thus, the ’Caribbean Queens’ finished the competition without losing a single set and managed to revalidate the title they won in the first edition of the competition. It was the third time that the two teams met in less than a month, and all encounters ended with victory for the Dominicans: in the group stage of the Pan-American Cup in Mexico, the group stage of this F6, and the final of the same event.

Unlike the titleholders, it has to be stressed that the USA sent a very young squad to the competition without head coach Karch Kiraly, who was replaced on the bench by Michelle Chatman. Brayelin Martínez stood out for the Dominicans in the gold medal encounter with 20 points, while her teammate Gaila González was awarded the tournament’s MVP.
