Baylor, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Stanford will fight for the NCAA title as they won regional finals to qualify for the national semifinals in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (December 20-22).

No.1 seed Baylor Bears (29-1), who were in the regional final for the first time ever, eliminated No.8 seed Washington Huskies (27-7), beating them at home by a 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-19, 25-18). Thus, Baylor advanced to the first Final Four in program history. Junior outside hitter Yossiana Pressley top-scored for the winning side with 27 points.

The Bears will face fourth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (26-6) who are back to the national semis after six years. Mostly thanks to junior outside hitter Molly Haggerty (17 points) and junior middle blocker Dana Rettke (8 kill blocks), they swept No.5 Nebraska Cornhuskers (28-5) in front of own crowd in Madison.

The seventh-seed Minnesota Golden Gophers (27-5) also secured a spot in the semifinals after scoring a straight-set victory over Louisville Cardinals (22-10) in Austin, Texas, who caused an upset in the third round by eliminating No.2 Texas Longhorns. Sophomore outside hitter Adanna Rollins (16 points) and senior Taylor Morgan (6 kill blocks) led Minnesota to redemption for losing the regional final last season.

Last but not least: No.3 Stanford Cardinal (28-4) gave no room to No.11 Penn State Nittany Lions (27-6) for a surprise and kept running towards defending the title: 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-17). Thanks to 26 points from senior outside hitter Kathryn Plummer, Stanford entered the 23rd national semifinal, the most of any program in the nation.
