JPN M: Edgar makes brutal blocking display for Thunders but Stings prevail in big match

The JTEKT Stings extended their winning streak in the 2019/20 Japanese Men’s Volleyball Championship regular season to eight games.

By prevailing over the JT Thunders Hiroshima with 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-8) in the big match of Round 16 of the 2019/20 V.League Division 1 Men regular season, the leaders JTEKT Stings extended their winning streak to 8 games. In the same time, they ended rival’s 8-game run. Australian Thomas Edgar was amazing in the block today (7), scoring 34 points for the losing side who came in third in the charts with 13-3 and 38 points. Yuji Nishida tallied 30 points for the Stings who are at No.1 with 15-1 and 42 points.

The second placed Panasonic Panthers recorded 10th victory in a row. The Wolfdogs Nagoya ended their losing streak of 6 games, while the VC Nagano Tridents prolonged their series of defeats to 5 matches, remaining last-placed with 2-13 and 6 points.
